Leaving for Fiji today, will be spending two weeks total there, including just over a week on the Coral Coast on the south of the main island of Viti Levu, followed by a five day cruise through the Yasawa group of islands which are to the north west. Looking forward to doing some scuba diving and giving both my new underwater camera setup and my drone a good workout.
We booked a mid morning flight, and are currently at the airport waiting to board. With all the new equipment I have purchased recently we were sure to get to the TRS tax refund booth early, but still had to wait for a while. Apparently you can now download an app that speeds up the process, which we will definitely do next time.
We are taking Virgin this time, as opposed to Fiji Airways. We were hoping to get into the Virgin lounge as we got some free passes when we made silver, but it turns out there is not actually a Virgin lounge in the International terminal; they share with New Zealand Airlines I think, so they didn’t want to know us.
In the end we had some bacon and egg rolls in the cafeteria, which was fine.
We are boarding in a few minutes and will arrive in Fiji around 3:45pm local time.
Sydney City Beaches
We got a nice view of Bondi as we took off. The flight lasted just under four hours and was uneventful. We are currently driving south towards the Coral Coast.
Room with a View
Arrived at The Warwick Fiji for our four night stay. The weather is a bit cool, but will hopefully improve.
We arrived just after sunset, the drive from Nadi airport taking just under 90 minutes. Above is the view from our Warwick Deluxe room on the club floor, which is on the second floor and includes access to the Executive Warwick Lounge, breakfast, complimentary afternoon tea and pre-dinner cocktails.
