Australia’s most popular tourist beach, Bondi Beach, is usually busy during the day, but quiets down a bit after dark.
Bondi Beach at night maintains a vibrant seaside suburb atmosphere, with many interesting places to drink, eat and be entertained, while the well lit boardwalk provides an enjoyable place to exercise.

For dessert there are more than a few ice-cream options, including a Ben and Jerry’s, a Movenpick and others. There is also a Spanish Churros mid way down the parade.
North Bondi at Night
From the South end of the beach, Icebergs has the best view, while Mojo’s Tapas Bar is a great place to enjoy some drinks and reasonably priced Tapas plates, while 34 Degrees South often has live music playing in the basement.
Further down Vue Bar has Tapas and Oysters, The Bondi Hotel has a variety of bars and North Bondi RSL has both restaurants and bars.
Exercise is popular along Bondi Beach, even after dark. The concrete boardwalk along the beach is well lit and is used by joggers and dog walkers late into the night.
The beach is also popular at night, mostly romantic couples, volley ball players, sand joggers and the odd fisherman.
Swimming at night is strongly discouraged as the surf and currents are dangerous enough during the day, and can be fatal at night.
Volley Ball at Night
There is much to see and do along Bondi Beach at night. A walk down Campbell Parade visiting a few of the interesting bars is a good start to an evening.
Dinner at one of the excellent restaurants along the strip, followed by an enjoyable walk along the well lit boardwalk makes for a great night out.
